Anywhere you want really. I had mine mounted between the handlebars and guage pod with velcro. I also made sure to have the box all sealed up with silicone. I did have to slightly notch the plastic to run the wires but it was very minor.

I also have mine on the bars/riser. I've seen some mounted under a panel and wrapped in plastic. I didn't do this and haven't had any issues this far.
