spring

if your dealer is close by take to them, if you bought your sled there they will do it free if you know them at all.

I used a set of strut spring compressing tools to remove the spring from my mono, it did the job but you need to watch what you're doing because it's a little too big and rubs the shock body

Not the safest way but I've done it using 6 gear clamps. put the clamp around 3 of the coils length wise and compress, do this with 3 clamps at one end and 3 at the other. Couldn't find my spring compressor.

My way isn’t the safest either but it only takes 15 minutes with shock still in the sled.
1. Pick up the back end of the sled.
2. Get 2 ratchet straps and pull the long strap right out of ratchet mechanism.
3. Feed non hooked end of free straps (one on each side of shock assy) up though coil spring itself and back out over the coil spring as close to the top as you can.
4. Place strap hook over suspension axle and install ratchet portion to strap and tighten.
5. Lower the sled and have a buddy sit on it to compress the spring.
6. Once the spring is compressed reach in and tighten the straps more to hold the spring itself in the compressed position.
7. Lift the back of the sled and now the straps are holding the spring compressed so no more pressure on the adjuster mechanism. You can now push the adjuster towards the spring and relocate the clip.
Hope that makes sense?? Sorry wish I had a picture……….hard to explain but I still have all of my fingers. I have done all my buddies sleds like this and only takes a few minutes. Like I said the idea is to hold only the spring itself in the compressed position, not the shock assembly and hold it there with the straps while you make the adjustment………

Wish you had pics too, would definitely like to see how this is done.
