MPI Apex Build

its set up to run 91 pump gas on a stage 1 kit, and where i am at low elevation it will be pushing a few more lbs then normal i was told by mpi...as long as i am over 10 ill be happy...its gonna be my trail sled...

i havent driven the sled yet so i will confirm the boost numbers when i get it finished and testing and tuning done...

parts are arriving daily....so i am going top be getting this project underway this evening...

thanks for all the feeback! pics are comming soon :)

all of my parts have arrived, and will be starting the buildup this weekend!!!
quick question...what plugs do you recommend?

and i have noticed mt sled dosent have a bov installed, it it worth the $350 mpi wants for a bov kit? is there a cheaper alternative?

thanks guys

Go with stock plugs, they are the best for your boost scnario, that is what I run as well.

The MPI BOV while not cheap is probably the best on the market. You can get a Vortech for around $220 but that dual valve from MPI is awesome. You get boost blow off at low loads but full boost at WOT. MPG and full PSI I have to pick one on the vortech but cant have both.

thats for the bov help...am not rally wanting to spend another 400 on this project! ill have to wait and see how it runs as is...

what gap would you run with the stock plugs?

all parts showed up today!

hey guys! sorry for not updating but i only had a hour or so every other night to work on the sled since novemeber, but i had it out for its first run yesterday

! i absolutly love the smooth but hard pulling power! its so nice to cruise on the trails and have no worrys of burndown like i am with my 2 stroke turbo...i think its a great sled!

- it indeed shows 16 psi on the gauge but it may be the gauge...will switch the gauge from my turbo m8 and re try it!

- its in dire need of a blow off valve...the way that i ride on and off the fuel tree riding, and even slow speed driveability is not that great...i blew the intercooler off after a few stabs on and off and broke a cooler clamp...a slow ride home with only 5 psi of boost with the loose clamp...

(wheres a good place in canada to get a new clamp set??

- it shuts down sometimes when you dont let it sit for a second at idle rpm with the throttle, so a throttle body sync might needed...

- the float 2 front and custom axis rear shocks are a great combo and i could literally ride it through the bumps like a 2 stoke! impressed! the wide front end is nice and stable!

ride impressions:

- with that kind of power and a 162 it pulls so hard! not ski lifting too much just pulling so hard that i couldnt help but smile! for the type of riding i am going to be doing i will love this sled...trails and some deep snow running from time to time...22/40 gearing is plenty fast showing 120ish mph on the gauge!

am ordering a mpi bov, better boards and some hillclimb brackets, ice age rails, 8 inch wheels, excell idler wheels, low snow wheels, anti stab kit and maybe try the sno stuff exhaust that came with the sled but wasnt installed...

ill post some pics soon! thanks again!
