Noticed a very high pitch squeal on my supercharged Apex sometimes during idling today. Any ideas? Seems to go away with a bit of throttle. Or maybe I just can't hear it anymore. Definitely not normal blower whine.
Listen closely to the video once the other snowmobile passes by. You will hear this strange squeal. The SC belt isn't loose at all. The video takes a minute to load up.
Thanks for the help.

Yep I do, you need to adjust the belt. Typically yami sound, there is washers on the backside of the secondary. You add or subtract them to get the belt height right. Then the noise goes away most times.

Thanks buddy. You're thinking this might be a problem with the sheave offset? Are these washers you can pick up anywhere or are they Yamaha specific?

its that or engine alignment
Ya there a yami part. Imgage Terry(TNT) would have them. Forsure it could be an alignement problem. Thats alot bigger job, not bad thou. Some parts have to be removed to do that. Access to bolts needs, primary removed, oil tank, intercooler, brake rotor. Then alignment bar, then reinstall all the parts.

Sounds exactly like the drive belt, is it new? When it breaks in, it'll stop. Just leave it...very minor.

Yep, this is a brand new belt. Maybe I'll give it a bit of time.

The new belt is just a little tighter than the used belt was. If it drives you nuts, then you can remove a washer on each of the screws on the back of the sliding sheave of the secondary.

I'll leave it as is. I've had a Nytro and 2 Apexes and have never come across this. Good info to know...thanks.

This happens to my sled and my dads vector when we replace the belt with a new one. I notice that my SC apex will quit a lot sooner then dads 120hp vector I must be a little harder on belts LOL
