Went to a local test and tune drag event today.

There was one completely stock looking Apex LTX that took us by surprice and made the most impressive run of the day, not the fastest of the day but very fast for a trail unlimited sled.

Here's a link to a clip of the MCX290 equipped turbo Yamaha Apex LTX with MSD Launch Master 4350.

WHO NEEDS :nos

MSD Launch Master 4350 on order for my friends Powder Lites powered Attak. We will be back more info when we have the MSD installed and tested.

Any one have experience with the master launch on a sled set up for snow, ie. meaning 1 3/8 to 1.5 inch track on semi hard pack??

I am thinking that from engaging at 3600 rpm with no boost or hitting engagement with 4-6 lbs boost. There might be something to gain there.

We will be back with info as soos as we have installed, tuned and tested the MSD in my friends sled :)

Hi

What rpm is best for engagement with mcx rearmount turbo?
any update on how the launch master is working?

For snow- about 3900 to 4300
For grass- about 4500 to 5100

Both sleds in my avatar are using msd launch master. Mine is a front mount. And the other is Switchback's mcx 290 kit

How does the 4350 hook up? Does it come with a button of some sort to activate? For the apex motor the 4350 kit/PN is all that is needed?

Any updates rxrider?

My friends sled is still in pieces, will comment in my turbo garage thread when he have figured out his setup.

4350

I run the msd 4350 on my stage 2 mpi asphalt drag sled. Works great. 3800 engagement makes me 3.8 lbs of boost perfectly every time. perfect consistency for bracket racing.

nice and easy, unplug the coils and plug in the harness, then power and ground, and wire in a button or the brake light. Very easy!!

My friend uses his break lever to activate both the MSD Launch Master and 2nd boost/fuel map on the RB3, this map has ignition timing and fuel adjusted for to MSD stutter rpm. Take off rpm is 4500.
When his break light is lit the MSD and RB3 2nd map is activated, engine stutters at 4300 rpm.
Give it WOT, let go of the break lever and the sled is taking off hard :) Take off boost is about 3 lbs.

Works great, some fine tuning of take off rpm and maps still needed. He wants more and he's talking about take off rpms of 5500 to get 6-7 lbs of boost at takeoff, I'm telling him he's gonna spin off the line like crazy, is he going to listen to me... NO WAY.
