Well guys we had the races here yesterday and there were a couple guys here from out of town on their nytros one was a 09xtx about 500mile other 08mtx both had aftermarket exhaust but i think thats it, i ran a 08mtx all stock. Track was 1/4 mile on snow was nice and smooth at first just after it was groomed xtx was 2nd to run so had a nice track and hit 88mph i ran after him and hit 90mph and the other mtx hit 85mph those were our best runs after that we all went down as the track was getting worst, there was also a 600 iq there that hit 85mph and that was all that ran in the 600class. Those speeds were pretty low on colder days i have seen the mtx do close to 100mph on radar on 1/4 mile.
The xtx was not around for the drags so it was only me the other mtx and the iq 600, drags were 1000' i took the other mtx by about 4-5 lenghts judging by the videos i have of it. After i took the 600 drags i moved up to the 700 class and there was only one there a mach 1 with about a 1000miles on it i took him too then i tried the 800 drags but not much luck there i could take a couple of them on the start but then they would fly by. I really expected the xtx to do better on radar i kind of thought i had a pretty good chance on the drag but we never got to try. I can tell you that a little playing with your suspension and making sure your clutching is right on makes a big difference i was out of town last weekend to races and there was a different mtx there and i took him by a nice bit also :flag:
Seeing the xtx is almost new do you think it will get any faster after a few more miles? I'm guessing everything is in stock setting so i'm sure he can have it running better i figured the xtx should take the mtx by 8-10mph :dunno: another thing i guess this shows that some aftermarket exhaust makes very little or no difference alone.

The XTX are fast mines all stock, I was out Yesterday GPS in Hand, condition -4 sloppy ice with lube.....seen 184km'/115mph @ 9060 RPMs GPS was reading a consitanted 110mph and flashed 111mph a few times!!!

The APex I was running with was hitting 115-116mph GPS (dreameter 128mph) (with a 1" track).....so 4-5mph off from a stock GT, Not bad.

Whats interesting the GT hit 122mph a few days ago but I was working, so I now think I may hopefully be able to see 115mph on GPS if the conditions are perfect ;)!

Yes, they both ran the same...no noticeble differance between the 2 sheild.

But, im a big boy the wind hitting me hard in the gut with the stock sheild...maybe if your smaller (not as wide wide) the stock sheild could be faster, but not with my 265lbs a$$ on the seat

Well that could be your problem.. Did they ever showw you a dyno sheet... Alot of pipe builders do not dyno their pipes... For example... On my 08 Polaris RZR, Yoshimiro avertised a pipe for it with 3-5hp gain. I called them and asked for a dyno sheet and they told me they never dynoed it... Go figure...

I never ran the mtx on a long haul to see what it can do only 1000' to 1/4mile max but it won't do no 111mph gps thats forsure and i doubt that xtx that was here yesterday would either by the looks of it.
