Try a new belt, I lost a belt at about 700 miles (must have been defective) and couldn't believe the added performance I seemed to gain with the new belt.
Conditions, shape of drive belt and hyfax, tension of drive chain, tension and alignment of track, carbs synched lately? Maybe your buddy made some improvements or redialed since you last ran.
SHEEVE TEM,PS WILL EFFECT THE RPM TOO IT SEEMS. MINE WILL NORMALLY RUN AT 10500, BUT I HAVE HAD AN INTERMITTANT PROBLEM WHERE IT'LL ONLY GO 9800 AT BEST. LET IT SIT AND COOL THE SECONDARY AND IT'S HAPPY AGAIN. YOU CAN PROB. RELATE IT TO COND. YOU'RE RIDING AND RIDING STYLE

hopeful
I called the dealer and they're going to take a look at it and check some things (sync the carbs, chaincase, etc.) They also finally got an orange/silver/orange primary spring too. So, hopefully I'll get at least one more ride this year to try it out. I do know they had recently tightened up the track again. Would too tight of track make a big difference?

belt wear
This belt has 1300 miles on it. How many do they usually get or when should I change it?

My Vector seems to have gotten slower as well. A little story of how I believe this has happened. I'll now play my "dumb #*$&@ card of the day"
My previous sled didn't have a parking brake on it, so I was never used to checking that. When I first got my Vector, I had the parking brake set in the garage while the sled was on shop dollies. I wheeled it out and was going to drive around the house on the grass to load it from a hill I had my truck backed up to.
Well needless to say, it didn't want to go forward very well with that parking brake applied. Being the dumb #*$&@ I was, I didn't even see it was applied and foolishly thought the skegs were just "digging in".
So I had a couple of guys grab the ski loops and drag the skis to get me going. By applying this "brilliant" technique, I was finally able to get the sled all the way around the house and loaded into the back of the truck.
Once there, I hopped out, then remembered I had a parking brake and went to apply it. Well low and behold it was already on. I asked my buddy if he had just put it on for me. Said he hadn't touched it. DOH! I then realized my dumb #*$&@ maneuver.
Needless to say I burnt my belt pretty bad. But after this was able to see 106 on the speedo once I had the sled broke in and we had good snow. Now I'm lucky to see 102, and my younger brother on his Viper will go right by me after 90 with ease.
I only have 1340 miles on this belt, but am hoping that its simply warn premuturely from my burning it, and by applying the new one.....will regain my top end.

My warrior is not as Fast as it used to be. With about 5,000 miles on the orignal belt I am going to try giveing it a change. I have also ridden in some very deep snow so it probally wore it down becuase a few times it was slipping pretty good from getting wet.
I had a defective belt on my 05 RX1. Earlier this year I was complaining about all the noise this sled made compared to my 03. It was unbearable under MPH. I replaced the belt and the sled ran much better and quieter. I still have the track noise, but the low speed problem is gone.

Sorry about the repete, I was watching tV and forgot I posted.... Also, the sled was much faster with th new belt.

Change the plugs also. This is one reason why some sleds dont rev out.
Conditions makes a huge difference with any sled also.

nothing found
Well, I got the sled back and they said that they didn't find anything major. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board. I think I'll go ahead and change the plugs and get a new belt. They did install the o/s/o spring. They told me it now engages at 4500, but I think that's what it was with the stock spring. Anybody that has one know what engagement and top end rpm should be with this new spring? Hopefully, I'll get to try it out again this friday (snow/weather permitting.)
