Hey y'all. Just got into the sport and picked up an 08 Nytro MTX with 265 miles. Guy did some nice mods for me already. Was lookin' for opinions on the sled, any improvements I should make, and wanted to join the community!
The sleds mods I know of are :
162" Timbersled Rear End
Timbersled Bark Buster
2009 Nytro Front A-arms
Simmons Skis
Fox Floats All Around
Better Boards Inserts
HandGuards
Handlebar Riser Kit
Misc. Storage and a Tunnel Rack
Mods I want to do :
Under Tunnel Exhaust!!!!
I gonna use the sled for fun (of course) and as a ski lift for great powder! I need to clean up the tunnel and remove the rear exit exhaust so I can get 2 boards on there and have more storage.
I took some measurements and I have 6 1/4 inches of clearance at the back of the tunnel for a muffler, with the suspension fully compressed. The stock muffler is just over 5 1/2 inches deep. Was thinking I could stick a mid pipe in there and still keep it quiet with the stock exhaust. Is 3/4 of an inch enough clearance?
Any recommendations on tunnel covers? I don't really want to cut the headers and would rather make an "elbow" for the midpipe to attach to. Anything wrong with that?
Was thinking the tunnel cover could have a small area pounded or arched out to make room for the short header/elbow/midpipe section that would be above the tunnel.
Did you all have to remove the headers to make the midpipe? Cut the headers? Or just slip on the midpipe?
I have searched a lot on here about building an under tunnel and am just looking for opinions from people that have done it and what improvements they would make on their design.
Sorry if some of my questions are dumb. But I'm new to the sport and working on motors in general. Thanks for entertaining my thoughts and questions.

Look under the FX Nytro Mountain Section of the forum the topic of under tunnel exhaust has be discussed in several posts. People have come up with several options.
You will find a lot of stuff you can so to your sled in that section.

Admin, Is there any way to get the thread moved to the MTX section? Sorry for the mixup.
SeaBee - Im planning on running the exhaust under the tunnel and either putting on a mountain mod seat or getting the current one restitched all black. Thanks!
Bholmalate - Thanks. I have looked and seen people's undertunnel mods. What I havn't seen, is someone retaining the stock exhaust going the undertunnel route. I may try it and see if it fits, or end up with a duromax or yoshi on the end to lower the muffler diameter.

Sled is now for sale. Need the cash for a new business. Plan to be back on a Yammy as soon as I can afford. I would honestly prefer to hold on to the sled until I have $ for boost, but business first, toys second.
Sled is located in Denver CO. $6900 OBO
2008 Yamaha Nytro with 380 Miles. I just don't ride enough and can use the cash for a new business. Turbo was in the plans for this season, but don't have the $ flow to accomplish it and start biz. Business first, toys second. Front right upper a-arm has minimal damage from a tree. No subframe, fox float shock, or lower a-arm damage. Doesn't affect ride-ability at all. Can replace front A-arm if sale dictates.
Mods are:
Simmons GenII Skis
New Geometry 2009 Front A-arms
Fox Float Shocks up front
All Black Body Panels and Stickers removed
Body Panel venting kit to keep everything cool
Timbersled Mtn. Tamer Rear Skid Suspension w/ Fox Floats
162" Ice Age Rails
162" Power Claw Backcountry Track
SlideKicks
Handle Bar Adjustable Riser
Better Boards for the Footwells
Timbersled Front Bumper
Belly Pan Protection
Relocated rear light
I'm sure there are some more mods I'm forgetting, but that's the main stuff I can think of.
Located in Denver, CO. Looking to sell within 2 months before I move back to Seattle. Bring reasonable offers. Thanks!
