This is a good point. I remember riding with a buddy who blew his belt and commented on how his performance improved with the new belt. I thought about it and the next stop I installed my new belt and made the used one my spare. I couldn't believe the difference. The sled gained throttle response and was faster. If I hadn't made the change I never would of known that performance can be lost with an old belt. Keep in mind this was my experiance with an 800 Triple MachZ that loved beltsYETI said:Clean clutches wash new belt and then try it Older guy may have been easy on throttle and smoked the belt.My 2

Check all of your idlers for bearings either seized or out of grease hard to turn, missing track clips, bad speedo bearing, it sounds like FRICTION is robing you SPEED, after a long hard pull check your clutches if their running HOT if so your slipping and losing performance, only use 87 octane fuel, set your transfer rod just enough to get pressure off your front skis 1/2 setting should be fine, chech your ski runners if broken or bent out of shape, I ride a '08 APEX LTX bone stock and seeing 109 on GPS pending on conditions, try adjusting and aligning your track don't run it to loose, Im actually faster than a '07 APEX GT on top end and he's spent a lot $$$ and still can't beat me

Guys.....all the stuff you have suggested have been tried, tested and checked. Thanks for the advice. I'm still looking into this.
