.... Well let me start by saying I've always owned Doo myself, still have an 800 REV Blair Morgan limited edition. I got the Attak for the solid motor, long ride capability with no oil and low gas requirements, as I love the long haul days. I think the sled is awesome in every aspect, except jumping of course due to extra size. I also feel it "fits" better than the Doo as far as positioning.

Okay back to my buddy. He's always Doo as well, just had a Renegade for two years till it got wrecked recently, which he was planning on jumping right back into without consideration for any other sled. I told him take out the Attak. He comes back from riding saying:

"VERY... VERY..... VERY impressive. Wow."

Not a thrilling story I know, just writing it up for any of those in here still looking for feedback before moving to Yamaha, as opposed to those of us who already have

thanks for the feedback,I amconsidering a attack gt,after coming off a 03 rx1.The only thing holding me back is "cats"diamond drive feature.I had chance to drive one in a jag 1000 and liked it :4STroke: the only draw back is the price of the sled compared to the gt. :o|

please tell us your joking. what do you find so special about diamond drive?

Not joking, have you ever lost a jackshaft bearing while riding?Diamond drive is more efficient, reduces overall weight, less maintenence, whats not to like? ;)!

ive heard of numerous diamond drive failures, one of my friend had a firecat last year and spent the entire season at the dealer cuz of that diamond drive, gears got messed up inside,THREE TIMES.he traded her in at the end of season for a new attak and he's so happy with it he'll wont go back to anything else

I had a friend with a ZR 900 with the diamond drive and he lost the second half of the season a few years ago because his DD craped the bed and there were no parts to fix it.

Oh yeah which makes me think, this story isn't concluded. He hasn't purchased his replacement sled yet, so I'll let you know how it ends when he does. But the plan to skip all else and go straight for the Renegade without consideration, has now really put a big question mark in his head.

Honestly, not to brand bash as I've always believed in best sled over brand loyality.... I would never buy an Arctic Cat for the simple reason of how many I've had to rescue of the trails broke down. About 3 years ago was the worst story, kid had a new Firecat, trailored in 100 miles to get to our trails, took out his sled and went about 15 miles and it died. He was NOT happy....

Not to mention the loss of power vs. a chain driven zr900. chain drive is faster overall. I dont know this because i owned one but buddy of mine has owned and ridden both and this is what he tells me from experience. He hates the diamond drive.
