Yep, was riding with my cousins and noticed it got louder AND LOUDER. took it to the shop and a little S peice of pipe came off the track. i noticed this peice is pretty thin. like the welds boke. has this happened to anyone else?
such a piss off because today is so sunny out and had a ride planned with 8+ guys at the lake. bummer. within 30 mins we had it tared down to the headers.

Literally the exact same thing happened to me with that exact same can from mbrp. The welds on it are faulty from being ground smooth. The current model is not like this anymore. In my case, it broke my factory header in two spots, four cracked seams on the can itself, and by the time I made it home it had melted all four of my rear plastics. Send all of your pics to mbrp and they will send you a brand new can of your choice. If you still have a proof of original purchase they'll replace damaged parts as well. Call them first, they're pretty good about it even if you don't have a bill

When that can failed on me I got them to send the "trail" can in place of that "race" can. It was way too loud and I was actually happy that it broke. The new one is louder than stock but half as loud as the strait through one. I didn't even get 1000 miles out of that piece of junk and I'm well over 2000 with the new one

good thanks there toyota. sent them an email and will see what they say. ill get the loudest i can. live in the country with 10 neighbours in a 20 mile radius so noise isnt a concern. a guy can weld it for me. but for 125$ and the problem will probably happen again.

They can't really argue when the can says MBRP in huge letters on the side

When you install the new one slip it on the header and attach it at the rear mounts near the tail light. Then check the alignment of the front muffler mount at the entry side of the can, the one that attaches under the heat shield. I've installed 3 mbrp mufflers on nytros and that tab was out of alignment on all three, making for a difficult install and putting unwanted stress on the whole system. Don't be afraid to heat up that tab a bit to bend it and make it fit properly. MBRP's nytro jig must be a bit off. Its only like a 1/4 inch but it makes getting that last bolt and rubber in a pain. Easy fix if you know about it. Good luck

Thats where my header broke as well and I was able to tig weld it back together because it was a clean break. Luckily I can weld stainless myself. The cause of that is that tab on the muffler with the rubber piece being clocked wrong from mbrp, putting a weird stress on the system. Eventually its got to give somewhere. Mine was way worse because I was 100 miles away from my truck and had no other way to get home. Check that can for any cracks as well. When you put it back together make sure that thing isn't pulling the header to somewhere it doesn't want to be and you'll be fine. I'd still try and send it back though

I did a VIP on the can but couldn't check the front without a scope or mirror. I'm going to double check tomorrow in the am preride, keepin my fingers x

That doesn't make for a good end to the holiday riding. If your interested I do have a spare header that I would sell if your interested mx.
