Looking to add my first quad to my lineup (currently own a blue 250F WR). Never even ridden a quad before....
Looking at the 700 Raptor and the YZF 450. Any thoughts? 38 years old, 5'11". 210 lbs and not looking to race - just trails, desert, etc.
I was told the 700 is the better "overall" choice as the 450 is for racing only. I have also seen the 700 billed as the fastest, most powerful quad to date, etc. Just want to ride hard at times, and putt around from time to time, but don't want a rocket that would be too much for me.
Thanks, guys...! Plese lemme' know what you think and why, etc.

The raptor sounds like a good fit for you. I would go for it.

Ditto on the Raptor for the riding you describe. The latest version shares a lot of attributes with the 450 for handling and speed while also allowing you to putt around.
The 450 likes to be ridden fast, all of the time.

The Raptor will also lend itself well to any future mods, and yet retain most of its well rounded composure due its fuel injection. I own a 660, and its alot of fun, and easily upgradable . The 700 will suit you well, and when the modification bug gets you have a great platform to start from. My 2 cents.

Thanks, guys for the info! Bought the Raptor 700 this afternoon for $6,695 out the door during a blow out sale... Couldn't pass up!
