Hi i am new to Yamaha as i have been green pretty much all my sleding life and have now seen the light or I hope so lol As i sold my 2005 440/600 snopro and just purchased a 2004 RX-1 Warrior with 1000 kms in mint shape in which i want to buld as a everyday sled for the back country not hills that are real big but little ones mainly just breaking our own paths doing some ditch banging and a little friendly lake racing and i also go to the local drags and i want to lighten her up ,put some better suspension like floats up front and a cheap something to the back maybe a ZR or M series skid what do you think?and put more power in this beast also a clutch kit so my question is what do you all recomend buying to do this without giving away my left leg or something else lol i see some have motor kits, turbo kits others nitrous and clutch kits and what not ,what do you think is best motor kit or turbo,i dont want to go to hell with the power just something around a little better than 200 maybe a stage 1 lets say 220/240 hp if it be turbo to run pump gas and turn up the boost if it works like that and use race gas for local drages,I have a 2 stroke boondocker noss kit and a cold fusion wet kit up in the garage to put on if that would be good to add on to the turbo or a motor kit,But really all i want the best bang for the buck so could some of you help and please point me in the right direction as i see alot of you have built some very nice sleds and some with great power and some at modest power im looking to be in the modest range something that i can get on and trail ride but if i get to the lake or at the local drags turn it up and i can get out and compete or atleast have fun so its like this if you have an oppion which most do lets here it and let me be a guy who left the green machine to go to a better place "first"lol
P.S I would also like to do something with the seat maybe a mountain mod or boss seat or even a nytro ,etc..to put me in a better ride position like the nytro or apex are, plus maybe some pipes to make it sound great not that it dont already have a great sound but i have heard some wicked 4 strokers out there so chim in on that as well and if anyone has some of the stuff im looking to get on here please feel free to post it up or drop me a pm with what you have :rocks:
Thanks Roger

These sleds are fast enough for ditchbanging and thrashing through the woods, so I decided on nitrous for the lake racing events. I use a 80 shot from cbperformanceparts.com and I tell ya it hits like a freight train. I ate a clutched mach Z in every race he wanted and I was only running the bottle at 600psi so I was probably only geting half the 80 hp shot. I'm going to make sure the bottle heater is on at least 45 mins and then decide to go lake racing from now on. My kit is a direct port wet system and has a spare tank that holds 114 octane in it, I can then run on 87 all day long and when I need to be the first across a lake its just a button away!

Thanks for the reply Kinger and im thinking of getting the extra parts to make my cold fusion 2 stroke kit a 4 stroker all i need is 2 nozzels and 2 distrubtion blocks 1 into 4 and the fittings if someone knows where to get this stuff at a reasonable price please let me know as i dont want to spend alot of $$$ into the noss as i want to put a turbo or supercharger kit on her and dont want to waste to much on the noss as it will only be quick fix to keep her a little competive againist my bros firecat 700 till I save enough for a boost kit. With that being said i live at sea level and would like to know your thoughts on buying a turbo wether it be front or rear mount or a supercharger for my needs as i will not be much higher than sea level very often as i can see it from my front window and the local drags are at best 500/1000 feet so losing boost on a supercharger is not a problem. So which would be better for riding and draging i would think the supercharger as it has no lag so i have read but the turbo do especially the rear mount right? So would someone lead me the right way.
Thanks Roger

Here is my take, I won't be riding this thing forever to sell it boosted you will take a major loss so install and de-install is of concern for ME:

SC about 8 hrs for someone who has done it

TC front mount about 20 hrs for experienced people

MCX TC with head gasket about 30 hrs for experienced mechanic

HP:

SC 215 pump fuel

TC 235 pump fuel

MCx TC 260 pump fuel

Lag:

SC = 1.5 psi at clutch engagement

TC = some lag but probably not bad, might be ok to have a little less down low to help promote hook up when drag racing

Cons to all kits is fuel MPG, say good by to teens and hello to single digits and premium fuel

Also some can be finiky forcing you to make adjustments throughout the day, its all in the set up so if you want to boost and forget it do some homework and listen to people that have that expereince because I don't think its a real common occurance.

The CBperf nitrous with the aux tank works best for me, she'll do over 100 mph off the bottle, 130-135 mph on the bottle, runs on 87 and the engine works like a stock engine with no adjustments needed on a trip

Good luck, on the bottle or all boost these sleds fricken rip!
