heres another pic, couldnt figure out how to put both pics on one post ?

question..I've taken out the bracket and what about the dip where the tabs are located?

I was under the impression you just used a solid bar of stock....how did you account for the dip?

He cut or ground that area down to accommodate the dip in the bracket.

i checked my headlight pod and sure enough it flexed up and down a lot with my hand . i removed it to check out what you guys were talking about ,sure is a light bracket .i wrapped a piece of heavy mechanics wire around it and tied it off . installed pod to check . '' bingo '' no more lift . quick fix i hope . no snow to try it here in western quebec. happy trails . :4STroke:

post a pic please...cant wrap my head around this?

i actually did that first ,a piece of mechanics wire around the fuel rail but didnt want the pod pulling up on the fuel rail or the regulator bracket so i made my bar

hey sj........i cut the bar down in that area to allow the bar to hit evenly all the way across the bracket, figured it would be a lot more solid that way, little more work but worth it i think

the fuel rail is very durable and the stress from 1 small piece of wire will not cause any problems .if i thought this would cause a problem i would be the first to scrap this idea .i adjusted the light several times last year with no luck .bought silver stars .now i can see then tops of the trees more clearly .i am not a person to cut corners ,so i will test this at night if we can get some snow . :rocks: :4STroke:

okay gentlemen....here's my analysis...I was in the process of doing the fix 170 posted but first took the braket off the sled and mounted the pod to it...with the tabs in place and side bolts in tact...and noitced something...sure the bracket is flimsy...both front and back...but IN ADDITION AND MORE IMPORTANTLY so is the plastic on the pod itself and I BELIEVE there is an equal amount of flex there...so my thoughts is to take a 1/8 in by 3/4 or 1 in piece of steel and rivet it to the rear shelf of the bracket with a few bolts facing upward right under the rubber ring...and have a rubber bumper which is threaded to be able to turn and push against equally those two rubber rings ....i've tried a crude version and it really shored the pod up .

sounds like a lot of 'over engineering' to me!! :tg:

I will re-inspect mine this coming weekend and maybe even make a video for y'all!

not really...a plate with two bolts and a nut/washer set up keeping the pod square because not oly does the front of the bracket lex...the rear does and the pod too.
