- 2018 LTX DX
2016 RTX SE
ive been wanting one for a while now, and I finally just said screw it And bought a brand new 2016 LTX DX. Picked it up last Saturday. All black! Dealer threw in a $1000 Yamaha suit for $250...probably last years gear as Yamaha isn't working with Klim anymore so I'm assuming it'll be last years gear. I don't care though, it's a really nice suit! Even has knee pads built in.
So I'm looking for things to do to this (minor tweaks) sled on the cheap. My buddy has a 4th wheel kit for me so I'll be putting that on shortly. I would like a saddle bag set up for the long trips, but I don't think there will be enough for bags and a tunnel gas tank. So I'm thinking maybe just buy a good backpack, but I don't know. I need some recommendations from you guys!
I'm getting custom registration numbers made up as well, as I can't stand the blue plate look...I'm sure most will agree. Any help on these sleds is much appreciated! Looking to get the most out of it. I don't mind spending a bit of money on it, but don't want to dump a ton into it.
Not sure how well the sliders or carbides hold up, I've heard the carbides are junk from factory. But the way this winter is going, I think I'll burn them up and buy new ones next year. Definitely installing the good sliders next year...forget what they are called.
Anyways, here's a few pictures for now! Can't wait to ride this black snake!

Nice! I have a '15 DX and love it. Turf the stock runners and put the 4" ers on the outside, pick up some 6" ers for the inside. I put around (forget how the numbers work out) 144 studs on double backers). Front shocks to your liking, center shock, loosen til the spring is loose and tighten back up 2 turns. I have the springs on the mid block and the transfers on 2. I'm a big guy (260 dressed) and it does bottom out occasionally in the rough stuff but don't mind for the comfy ride. I have done clutching on the cheap (posts elsewhere here) and works well but if your not a tinkerer than I'd recommend a kit already set up that just needs weight added to weights. I have 2300 miles on mine and still trying to get it right. Enjoy! The more miles u put on the better it gets!

Also, as you'll read here, most folks are changing out the stock 8JP belt for the more popular (and considerably cheaper) 8DN belt. It seems to be a little more consistent and with less belt dust. All that is required is to adjust belt deflection by adding washers to the adjustment screws on the back of the secondary.

I won't be studding my track, I've never used them and probably never will. Lol. I'm going to break it in on the factory settings. I just want to ride this year. I'll be surprised if I get on 800kms this year anyways. I'm hoping too, but looks slim.

Really eh?! How much are the extra wheels? Do they go in front of the front wheels?

My wife has the same sled in the red version, the thing is nice!We put woody pics on and it hooks up real well. Yamaha saddle bag trunk combo set for a tunnel storage. The thing was a bit pricey but has plenty of room. Also added the fender flair kit to keep some of the snow from kicking up.So far so good .It still very new and hardly broken in.Snow in Wisconsin has not been real good .Congratulations and ride her hard.Wish I had better pictures for you but it's up north in the garage.

Ya they had one of those on the showroom floor, I almost bought it but not a big fan of the red. I guess I could possibly order those saddle bags...if they're available. It's definitely a nice lookin sled, but yes a bit more money as well.

Thanks! Where are you located in SW Ontario? Trails just closed up everywhere in the south today. Hopefully people stay off them until the warm weather dissipates and we get more snow!

there are a couple spots to put them. i added 2 sets, one on the inside of the rails mid area and one on the outside towards the rear. one set would probably do it.
arctic cat p.n. 6639-184 (5.63 wheels set of two) countrycat.com/ $69.95
