I have owned cats, 04 ZR 900 and 03 f5 and 03 f7, then in 07 went to an apex, 09 to nytro and back to 2011 apex, so I am not bias, I have liked all of them, that being said, I rode the 129, 137 and 141. I really like the viper, handles very well, rides nice, fit and finish is decent, lacks on power but I think when they figure out clutching and fuel map it would be a excellent sled.

Did you miss the power steering on your test ride? Not sure I can go back. Tried my buddies 13 Renegade 1200 and immediately hated it, mostly due to steering. Am I spoiled or what!

Just got back from demo ride at cascade. It handle very nice, rode very nice, power not there but they said they are prototype power will come on final production sled. Had a chick in front of me riding a vector and she could not stay planted in the seat were i never left it. The last two rides I could not get off the apex se. Sorry I just left apex power and ride. Hard to get a good feel of it riding on a ski hill but i'm sure they are going to sell a ton of them from the talk to other riders that were there.

I dont really think i will miss the power steering. I do like it but not that big of a deal to me, I went and rode 165 miles today in the wife's 2011 vector to see if I would miss the apex power steering and it didnt really bother me not having it. It was also a good test to see if the viper would have enough motor on the trail. Is was happy on the vector all day so I think a viper will be fine for the riding I do. So if anyone is looking for a good 2011 apex with power steering and only 1270 miles I have mine for sale
