got a set of the straight rate spings (2.1) from kevin at port yamaha,he was very good to deal with.i did 580 miles this weekend in the st.agathe area of quebec on just about every condition you can imagine.my sled is set up as follows.2003 rx1er, 6" woody's dually's , 10mm sway bar, longer links,5mm shims in the controll rods,2.1 stright rate springs.i found the ski lift was reduced but not much.the ski lift seems more controlled and predictable.the other nice thing about the new springs was it seemed to soften up the ride some.shifting gears i ran my sled out of fuel at about 145 miles.it still showed 1 bar and the warning light was solid not flashing.stuck bobber?also always always bring some type of jummper cables our black rx1 in the group cooked a battery 100 miles from any where and he left his cables in his truck.we had to take the aluminum belt covers off 2 of the sleds to jump 1 rx1 to another.overcharging?his instument pod was going crazy the rest of the trip along with no grip warmers, but it ran fine.this is my first yamaha in 12 years of riding.this is the best allaround sled period.
