MY RX-1 BULKHEAD, PLEASE GIVE ME INPUT!

That is good! I am really surprised it didn't tear the back open too. I hit a rock with my skis turned and it tore the back lower hole out.

I would assume that if one repaired a hole in the bulkhead (like the one in the Pics), that one would also check the other holes on that side for cracks, using something more than a visual inspection. Right?

That A-Arm fastens in the back too. I would check all the remaining holes on that side. I would probably also examine a few of the thin spots, between the flanges, to see if the thing flexed. If I had the bulkhead off, I would also look where the rear of the Bulkhead contacts or fastens to other parts of the Sled. But the A-Arm holes and surrounding flange areas would be checked for sure.

I would also look at the rivits. Sometimes they sheer off and still look good. I just found this on my Toy Hauler's Steps. The rivits looked good. But the step was wobbly. Had three sheered rivits from the car that bumped it a few weeks ago.

Not sure Magnaflux is the best way to go. In the past, I had ultrasonic testing performed on similar repairs on "special metals." (At the N-Plant, we have a lot of access to various Non-Destructive Testing equipment and metalurgists to run those gizmoes.) But, I suspect Magnaflux could find any gross problems. But, I am not an NDT expert.

At the speeds we go, I'd just hate to see someone loose a ski. Especially, if that somebody is coming my way. Personally, the probability and impact of a failure is not worth taking the risk. I'd replace the thing and still try to fix and test the old one, just to figure out what needs to be done to do it correctly. Besides, the repaired one mght make for a good emergency spare, if it tested good.
