I'm replacing the front left suspension, and left half of the bulkhead on a wrecked '04 RX-1 my uncle picked up. You know what sucks worse than takin stuff apart???.....takin stuff apart that's all bent and broke!!! I spent about 2 hours on it and got pretty much tore down to the half of the bulkhead I need to replace. I have one problem.....if you look at the pictures, there are two studs that point out to the left (as you're sitting on the seat), and two studs that point forward. I pulled the four nuts off these studs, but my problem is, how do i get the bulkhead wiggled off these four studs at the same time?? I can't go forward or to the left.....what's the secret??? Do I need to cut off two of the studs or get them backed out with a hammer??? I'm stuck....any advice from you guys that have done this before????
Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!!

Those studs are attatched to the steering gate. You must remove the steering gate first. Undo the bolts at the sides of the fuel tank ( three on both sides ) undo the steering post and lift the assembly at the tank end and the studs will slide out of the front bulkhead with a little bit of wiggle & pry & curse.

It's not too bad, once you have taken one apart the next time it goes pretty quick. Had to strip the Apex down when I put the head shim in.

You have to move the Deltabox U frame back an inch or 25 millimeters to have the Deltabox frame bolts clear the bulkhead, you do not need to remove it as long as you are able to pull the DB U-frame back far enough.

So, in order to get to the bolts in the rear part of the Deltabox, I had to remove the seat and take the fuel tank loose and slide it back about 4 or 5 inches....no biggie really....so I did that and got the U-frame taken loose. I was able to get it pulled back far enough and go the trashed half of the bulkhead out. I am in the process of trying to get the new half wiggled and cursed into place, but it got kinda late on me last night, and I was really starting to run out of patience. I think once I get it back into position and bolted in, I will be in the home stretch!!!! Thanks, for your help guys!!! You can always count on TY!!! Awesome site!!!

Didn't I tell you buddy? Sorry about that, glad you got the bulk half out of there and good luck on cursing the new one in place.
