ok so this is what i have so far on my list. u guys have any other ideas what to do befor the snow flies?
1. clutch kit- in and installed
2. air reservoirs for my fox floats- shocks off and waiting for my boss to do them
3. oil/ filter change- k and n filter on order.
4. change plugs
5. close off tunnel holes.
6. change around spacers on skis to make the stance wider.
7. air box lid mod. not sure what to use yet
8. 1 3/4 inch track with 96 studs- got for 100 bucks with studs and only 1 missing lug.
9. tunnel/ heat exchanger protectors
10. graphics kit- just have to get my buddy down to make the patterns.
11. custom exhaust- need a used phazer exhaust or just the part with the flex joints and to find a decent pipe or 2. dont want to cut up my stock exhaust in case i decide to go back.

Is that 1 3/4" lug going to fit? Is it 14 inches wide? Depending on how many miles your sled has consider a Ulmer Racing front end bushing kit. Also shim the skis or at least turn the rubber ski blocks around if you haven't, this helps with darting

sled has 445 on it. the track is a 14 wide. its off a prox r. plenty of room. few have put this same track on with out a problem that i know of. dont gte much darting cause our trails are usaly whooped and usaly tight twisties so theres not a real surface to get ski tracks that are long enough for ur skis to start tracking in them. plus i have USI tripple threats on it. the like 2 inch or what ever it is deep keel makes its own tracks regardless of whats in its way.
i might do it anyway any thing that helps. i was thinking of goin with the old style rubbers i have a set or 2 laying around. they are stiffer cause they arent slit. i think they are the same profile
what ive done already is
rear shocks relaveved
center shock spring replaced with fusion spring
usi skis.
ulmer clutch kit.

Re: Sled
Agreed sounds like it should be a pretty sweet phazer when you are done. How do you like the Triple Threats on the phazer, what differences do you notice from the stock ski?dox06 said:Nice, post some pics when you get a chance.![]()

huge diff over strock. sled goes where u point it as long as u can turn the bars. they are a bit agressive and a work out some times on hard pack or real wet heavy snow.

Are you gonna try those new E3 plugs from snow tech magazine?

I was curious about those also (E3 Plugs)
One question though, was that a 1 page advertisement or did they actually try them in something?
It seemed that the article was strait out of a slaes broshure....

we see the E3 plugs in weed wakers and saws at work and all they do is make then run like crap unless u can adjust the carb. we throw them right out when ever we get somthing in with them in it. they do seem to make it so u can run it leaner but u need to know how to adjust a carb to get it right or they machine runs like crap cause its too fat.

Are you using a v pattern for the studs?
terret725

it was already studded and no its not the V patern. its has double backers and every like 3rd has 3 studs and the next one only has one. so it goes like 2-3-1-2-3-1

i know it was already studed but wouldn't a better stud pattern be 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 2 than you wont have a stud in the same spot on any of the sections???? I dont run studs so it was just a thought, that would be a total of 96 studs in the track of a 121 than again i hear that it should be a stud per hp so you should only use 80????

its a standerd pattern used on race sleds. gives u alot of scratch lines. yea some over lap but not bad. theres more to it then just 1 stud per hp. ur riding style, track length, and kind of stud all takes into concideration. 96 is the min i would put on any sled i own. 144 is max even if its a 300 hp blown apex. unless i was drag racing it.
