Here's my version of the tunnel mod. I was inspired by all the other versions and planned to copy yamahaboy701's version. I originally purchased the Betterboards for an 08-09 nytro, then decided to use the 2010 better boards in order to narrow the footrests as much as possible. This should eliminate some drag in the deep snow. I used the arctic cat trim pieces (tunnel rolls) because of their strength over the yamaha ones.
I only had to bend them in one place where the footrests kick up in the rear. To eliminate the other bends, I drew a straight line on the Better Boards from the front outside corner to the the rear outside corner and cut off the excess (maybe 1/4" at the widest spot). Otherwise, I'd have had to make an additional bend forward from the vertical kick in the footrest. I haven't had it in the deep snow yet to see how much less drag there is, but I'm sure this has helped alot. The footrests are also stiffer now than before. I also relocated the taillight to the short track holes that are already drilled in the mtx tunnel.

Taking it to the next level, I like it. Let us know how it does in the steep and deep. Looks like you guys might be getting some snow this week.

Went to Island Park today. Things are looking better, but I still didn't dare venture off trail. We're supposed to get a foot up there in the next 24 hours, so that will really help.

I will be around island park/west Yellowstone Jan. 11-13. Should be some great snow by then... I hope.

Too bad you won't be there over the weekend. I'd come meet up with you guys. Where will you guys be riding on any of the Fri-Sun while you're out here?

I will be at togwotee for the weekend. Might be in island park on Sunday, depending on traveling conditions.

Do you know which tunnel rolls you used? I found these for the 162" M8 and am thinking of going with them.

5606-594 Gusset, Tunnel Roll - Right
5606-595 Gusset, Tunnel Roll - Left
5606-490 Roll, Tunnel - Right
5606-491 Roll, Tunnel - Left

Did you use the two piece tunnel roll and gusset?

Thanks,
Murph

Murph, Those are the exact parts I used. 09 M series tunnel rolls and gussets.
Finally had it in some deeper snow yesterday. I didn't notice the footrests holding me up at all when I slowed down enough to start trenching and when carving. I think it made quite a difference. Only problem was when I was headed straight up a steep hill, let off the throttle then got back on it and the TORS activated, leaving me pointed straight up the hill at a dead stop. Shovel was on top of the hill in my backpack with my wife. The Throttle Over Ride System is now overridden :)
