The teflon bushing on the swaybar is completely wore through and now the bar can move around and touch the bulkhead. The nearest Yammie shop is 2 hours away and I don't have a clue when or if I'll be able to get a new set of bushings. My question is, for the time being can I just unhook the bar from the ski arms and take the entire thing out all together and just ride her without it? Also is there anything attached to the bar inside the sled? Would appreciate an answer before the weekend so I can go for a good ol ride. Maybe I'd like her without the bar and take it off to stay and sell it, lose a bit of weight and make some casholies, that is, if you can even take it off.

I think there are some posts on here about removing the sway bar to ride off trail, it will just be more tippy in the corners. If you want to leave it in you could try wrapping it with as much electrical tape as will fit in the sleeve to prevent rubbing until you can replace the bushings. It does not attach to anything inside, just the ends.

I just removed mine on my vector a few days ago. If yours is similar then yes, you can just unbolt it and it will slide out. Very simple. And yes you can ride without it with no ill effects except for very different handling.

Alright thanks bys. I'm gonna try her without it and see what it's like. Then maybe I'll keep it out. I do do a decent amount of trail riding and the sled is tippy as is with a weak throttle side shock that will hopefully be replaced next year if I can find one for cheap. But anyways maybe it'll be too tippy we will see now that I know I can take it out. Once again thanks a lot.

I made a quick disconnect for mine.We ride fast on a groomed trail to get to the mountains, about 8 miles. Bottom bolt for the links, made it longer, drilled a hole for a pin and use a wingnut.Takes 2 minutes to stop and disconnect it all for mountain riding.

Well I had her out without the sway bar today and some things I like but there are a lot I don't. Sometimes it seems like she will always lean whatever way I do but then there are certain times where she just goes on the opposite way and it gets spooky. Trail riding without the sway bar is definately a no no, that's it scary as hell. My whole grip the seat and open her out to make her not tip on a turn routine definately does not work without the sway bar. I think I'll be getting the bushing and keeping it in at all times. At the same time I like your idea wienerwater, if I ever go to a place with some insane hills and I really get into modding this sled when I'm done with highschool and university then I'll look into doing this. I would like to see a pic if you don't mind, I'm not exactly sure what you have done.

Here's a pic of what I did. The pin is small enough, it won't be an issue on the trails (or really anywhere for that matter) It looks bigger then it is. Just make a bolt a little longer then what is there, measure close, and drill the whole for the pin close enough to the wingnut as to not let it really back off say more then a thread. If you want, you can even throw on a couple small zip ties to keep the link from swinging and making any small noise that might bother you.
