NEED ADVICE NOW ON SKID REMOVAL

I am about to remove the skid on my 2006 Apex GT. I would like a step by step guide to doing this and trick to help lke: should I remove the shock before I remove the skid to aid?

Is this best done on the ground or on a sled lift? I have never removed a mono skid before but I have done SRX and Vipers a lot.
