Hi All ! Was just looking at buying a 2006 apex mountain 162x2.5 , EZ RYDE skid , Boss seat , Fox floaters , MC turbo , ( set on low setting @ 220 hp ) ETC....

My riding will be 50% on powder and 50 on groomed . I know I will need scratchers . The sled only has 1450 k on it , just wondering what to look for before I buy and what problems I might have on the groomed beside track and hyfax wear.
Will it keep cool ? etc... ?

With that low mileage it's not worn in any way.
Check that it runs OK, test ride it if you can.
Check for damage, else than that, buy it.

Thanks RXRIDER ... you have tons of info I am sure to use on your home page ...
In regards to the Apex 162 turbo , do you think I will have heating issues running it on groomed trails ??? ...Motor , Underhood temp, Intercooler ...???
Sorry I am a old two stroke freak , have a lot to learn... Thanks.

On the Yamaha 4strokes there are no under Hood heat issues. The coolant system is up to the task as long as the trails are not iced over.
Tall lugs are a problem for the sliders in low snow conditions.

rxrider has a good point. the tall lugs will bend over on a hard pack surface, they will not be able to pick up snow to cool the tunnel heat exchanger. matt at mpi told me to install a oil temp gauge on the oil cooler and not to run it hotter than 160f on my stage 1. he also recommended i install a coolant temp gauge and not run the engine hotter than 190f. i know you have a turbo and it's a different animal but there's a base line anyways.

I have a temp gauge on my turbo sled and it never goes Beyond 85 C or 185 F.
I run an extra heat exchanger in the rear end of the tunnel, in front of the snow flap.
No problem With coolant temps no matter how hard I run it.
