need help getting my sled right after bearing replacement

I put all new bearings in my drive system. Both jackshaft bearings and both drive shaft bearings. needless to say I had the jack shaft and drive shaft entirely out of the sled and the chain case completely off the sled. I got the chain case all back together and everything seems ok on that side. I tightened up the locking collar on the jack shaft bearing on the clutch side and I can see by looking at the shaft that the bearing is not in the exact same place the old one was. Or it looks that way to me anyway. It looks like the shaft is about 1 inch too far twords the chain case. I put my secondary on and It didnt seam to have enough back and forth play in it. I tride to ride it and the sled was hanging back and not wanting to go. It had to be clutch because if I got it going and let off the gas it would coast just fine so my track and everything is moving good. The clutch seamed to be slipping some and not acting right. I took it out on the lake (still within 5 minutes of running for the first time). I tried to take it up to speed but something was wrong. It felt like the track ratcheted a couple times but it wasnt the track it came from the belt I think. Well I got on it one more time to confirm that something was wrong and blew a new belt. I think I have a clutch alignment problem but Im wondering if it is linked to something elsewear. Im thinking of taking to a local yamaha stealer to have them put a clutch alignment tool on and see if im out of alignment but even if I am I dont know how. In order for the chain case side to button up right the other side has to be correct, right?? Im quite frustrated with it right now. I had to ride around in my full yamaha gear on my wifes xc 700 yesterday and watch my buddy with his turbo walking away all day long.... :o|
 
Your clutch offset may be off. Spec are 15 mm offset +/- 1.5 mm.

If you have a Dial Caliper you can mesure the gap between the inside of the primary and the inside of the secondary. Remember to push the secondary all the way onto the jackshaft before measuring.
