Hi guys! long time 2 stroke guy, last sled being a 2011 skidoo 800 etec. Ran great but have been hearing about the sidewinder for a while now and they also look badass. Is there anyone like me that switched from a 2 stroke with success? Obviously they weigh a bit more, but can you feel it when riding? I'm in spokane washington, we do alot of trail and boondocking. Thanks guys, hope everyone had a good turkey day!!

the only time i really feel the weight of my sled is when i am stuck, witch is not too often nowadays. i do a lot of trail riding but also open trails with mine. it also helps to pick the right model for what you want to do. from the sounds of it a btx or xtx would be better.

btw welcome to the site!

I switched from a 12 Summit 163 to a viper 162 this year. Rode my doo first for one day and then the viper for 2 days now this season. Not looking to go back to a 2 stroke anytime soon. Trails and boondocking you're not going to feel the weight at all. I ride the mountains and this viper is just as easy to ride as my ski doo. That being said I rode a buddies 18 m8 and it is extremely light and maneuverable as is all the new 2 strokes.

Good luck!

I will add that you might not notice the weight in the moment but you will the next day when your shoulders and arms are sore from throwing around the extra 75-100lbs. I actually switched back to a 2 stroke because of the weight but I ride tight trees and steep hills. I felt the weight was holding me back a bit but that's just me. I've lost a lot of weight and could throw the 4 stroke around like I used to so I needed something lighter.
