So, I picked up this super clean 05 RX-1 at a auction. They announced it had a seized engine but when I grabbed the clutch I could rotate it about 1-1/2-inch so I was hoping that a bolt had backed out and was keeping the engine from turning over. Got it home and pulled the spark plugs. Put a screwdriver down each cylinder and sure enough each piston will move up & down about 1/2-inch when I move the clutch. I removed the valve cover and this is what I found on cylinder #3.

Not sure how much damage was done but I cannot find any threads in TY about rebuilding the top end on 1 of these engines

You might as well pull the head and see how bad it really is. My bet is there is piston and probably cylinder wall damage too. Since it didn't run you must not know how many miles are on it. Was it or ever had been turboed ?

Ken.............

No idea how many miles are on it. Wish the RX models were like the fuel inj models, where the dash displayed as soon as the key was turned on!!! Hate to spend a bunch of time, money & effort on a sled with a bunch of miles. No signs that it ever had a turbo on it

I didn't dig far enough into it, but I think there is a single wire that you can energize with +12v to light up the dash.

I imagine there is but I'm not sure where to begin to look for that information

I have a complete cylinder head (cams, head, valves, cover) for RX1 $200 plus shipping.
