OK- finally have to replace donuts & Y-Pipe on my 07 Attak. Plan on keeping the sled. Have heard about, Hauck & Excell Y-Pipes. Also have had some recommend SS Yammy Ypipes.
If it was you, what would you do. How much louder is your recommendation, as I do long rails rides thru communities & don't want to piss off the neighbors. A little throatier sound would be fine (heard a piped one last week & really liked it but the guy had no idea what was done to it as bought it 2nd hand). What type of performance gains would I get (how much will that effect mpg)? What ball park are the parts going to cost?
Just replace the Y-Pipes & donuts, or do more? More performance would make the sled feel new to me & I plan on keeping it for a while yet.
Hindle is coming out with something that won't require donuts, but I believe it is not yet available for the Apexes yet. Too bad.
Need to make up my mind over the next 2 days.

thanks

X2, I'm running the same setup and it makes a lot more noise. Hard to till when riding the sled, if you are behind it you can till. For the setup the cost is about 1000 bucks. Or you could just add the hauck Y-pipes and get a little more hp and a lot stronger pipe for about 500.

Added Excell y pipes oem donuts and flex pipes for a couple hundred rpm gain and about 2 HP. Just know that if you do a full exhaust, that you will need to pony up $ for a controller to make it run correctly

full excel and fuel controller will get you nice gains...do a search...its in here somewhere and is dyno proven...excel has been an advertiser on here for years

I did stock SS Yami pipes and donuts. They say the SS will last. cost was only $300 tops and fit was right on. Use the extra money you save on other things.
Price includes the connection gasket between the muffler and pipe. Get that as well. Don't use old one.
Easy job to do.

If money was no object, full Excell exhaust. In my boat currently Yamaha SS. Hope to find my Y pipes intact when I go to change the donuts soon.

I went with Excell (Hauck is also good) SS Y pipes (headers). I like the full exhaust look, but too loud for my likings, and I didn't want to mess with fuel controller. But the nice thing if you go with Excell of Hauk header now you can expand into full exhaust later on if you want. But whatever you do, go with SS.

I did the ss hauck y pipes, they claim 3-5hp. They were deff heavier and thicker than the titanium. I had my muffler gutted at the same time and love it. Lots of people say go excell full exuast but sorry my opinion i think the single pipe is butt ugly. The sound of the gutted exhaust is perfect for me. You can tell its not stock but sounds like a ferrari. My buddy has a nytro with a loud #*$&@ pipe on and it reminds me of a 97 silverado pick up , just loud annoying and not performance sounding at all. As far as mine i Didnt really notice any performance gains but like i said in other post i did a rail ext , gears, and new track at the same time. Completly transformed my sled. Price was about $45 for new donuts, $450 for ss hawk y pipes, and $50 to have my local exhaust shop weld my muffler shut after i gutted it.
