Would just like some honest opinions on a 2011 Apex. Are they much better than the older ones? I have had a 06 RTX and 09 LTX. If I do buy one it will be the 128 incher don't have the money for a new trailer. What are the bad things and what do I need to do to it? I have take off parts like my 13mm sway bar clutch kits 2 speeds D&F weights and Ulmer stage 2 kit Just need honest down to earth answers. Price is good with a track swap from stock ripsaw to 1 inch hacksaw Thanks mark

My Dad bought one too (he is 65).
I have an Apex and a Nytro.
I rode his and its alot better the the older ones.
Power Steering makes the sled feel really light.
The rear shock calibration and seating position are really improved.
Actually he wants me to soften the rear suspension for him.
Lots of deals out there. You can buy one for less than I paid for my 2006 when it was new. (in canada anyway)
Dad is really enjoying it and he loved his 06 Gt.

I have a 2011 Apex and I like it except for the premium gas and the mileage.(17mpg)
I just put on the new Tuner skies and they are awsome.
They eliminate all the problems that we have had in the past with Yamaha skies. Its like riding on rail's.

Snorover how is the ride and power compared to your 09 LTX? Did you have the dreaded slider wear problems that people talk about. Thanks going to maybe pick one up this week at Woodys in Topsham. 11599 is the sale price with free 5 yr warranty. Its either gonna be this sled or a 2012 SkiDoo 800 ETEC Renegade...Choices.....

Yes on Dan and crew.
First thing that I do is to lossen the track so it hangs about 1 inch.
Slide wear is the same as I allways had. It wears done the first 100-200 miles and then doesn't seem to wear
anymore.
I now have over 1200 miles on them and I am not up to the wear line yet. Will probably get at least 2000 to 3000 miles on them.
It seems to have much more pep than the old 09 and as far as the ride, I haven't noticed any difference.
Check out the Tuner skies-- a positve improvement in steering. It's like running on rails and you will like the power steering.

Does the 2011 seem to ride better I'm 250 dressed and my 09 LTX was pretty good compared to my 06 RTX. I'd get the XTX but only have a 10ft trailer and can't buy a new trailer too. Wife would kill me and since I have been getting all the new toys lately 2010 Silverado and 2011 HD Wide Glide I think my luck is running thin. Only reason I'm getting new is my 09 motor is bad cause of hitting a coyote and it taking out my heat exchanger and ran it too long and it got to hot. I have a ton of stuff that will fit it and will need to sell some stuff like my Ulmer PC3 and ing module. I'll eventually get the Ulmer PC5 and airbox mod already have his clutching so good there I'll try my pilot skis just to try if they fit and maybe I can get my ram air lid to fit we'll see.

Mark, Not sure on top end speed .... should be as good or better with exup but steering would be much improved for small trail or slow speed cornering.
I haven't raced any as of yet with my 2010 LTX GT but I hear they have a little more get up and go?
