Blue Me
TY 4 Stroke Junkie
I am pulling out my Mono shock skid out of my Attak to replace the spring with the larger spring. Can someone givee me some step by step instructions on the best and fastest way including any tricks. I also am looking for the best way to change the spring on the shock. I don't have a spring compressor so how can I and a friend pull this off and get it back in quick. Pulled the old Pro Action a hundred times but this is different so tell me where to start right up to finishing. Thanks guys in advance.

No need to remove entire skid. I did my spring yesterday. Pull rubber boot back to reveal RA cable end on top of shock(looks like a speedo cable) loosen and remove cable. Undo 1 side of the transfer rod. Put a 2x4 under the front of the track to take pressure off the limiter straps. Remove bolts from both ends of shock, gather bushings and walla! You have the shock out. I don't know how your going to compress that spring without some sort of compresser. I paid $42 for a a spring/strut one at CAP. That spring is tough! Any other way and you might get hurt. I compressed the spring enough to get the top tetainer collar off and then moved the c-clip to the 3rd position. I'll try this before I buy the "fat boy" spring. Hope this helps.
