Need some help...

No rear cooler, and the previous owner said no cooling issues/temp light. The new oil tank I'm putting on is supposed to help the engine run cooler too. We'll see.

Thanks for the advice on scratchers. I ran my XCR800 the other week on hard frozen snow and could literally see my hyfax disappearing... Might need a couple of sets!

You will have cooling issues with out a rear cooler at some point. Why do you think Yamaha came out with the rear coolers OEM in 08 or 09? and still run them in the 2016's? And nothing will do the job of cooling in most conditions except a cooler. Water Wetter etc.doesn't go the length. Others have posted this for years now. If you ride enough you will encounter bad conditions. So I would get the scratchers at the very least. That will cure either or both of those issues. Ask me how I know. I've installed 3 coolers on Attaks.

Ill keep my eye on it next season. I see BOP just came out with a rear cooler with built in tunnel protectors for $300.

He didn't have them for Attaks on his website that I could see. But if you need one you can get a OEM for Attak here for $335 shipped free. The part number is .....8ft 124a0-00-00

Also about the Dupont's I thought I read recently they don't work well on our tracks. Every third window clipped that is.

It's on the BOP home page--scroll down to see it. With the protectors built in it's a much better price than OEM.

That is for the 121" machine. You have an Attak which is 136" machine. They are 2 different coolers. Yamaha has two numbers listed. I gave you the OEM number for the 136" (Attak).
Besides protectors are easy to install. HomeDepot has 1in sq aluminum tubing you can screw into the rear and up front of the cooler. Different ways to do it. If you have studs you need 1 1/2 inch total over the cooler it self. 1" tube plus a old Hyfax does it.

One more try--go to BOP homepage, and once there, don't click on any links, just scroll down to see their new 136" cooler in the center of the page.
