What made you get an attak over the apex and vice versa?

I'm not trying to start a war here, and this is not a attak vs. apex thread. As someone looking to upgrade in the near future I'm simply wondering why you guys made the choice you made.

I was always looking to get an apex GT, then an RTX, and now I'm leaning towards a attak GT.

I ride mostly groomed trails that seem to get real choppy real fast, so I'm looking for something that handles the rough trails.

I'd appreciate a few words about why you bought what you bought and if you would do it all over again. Thanks.

I drove all three this weekend. I felt the Attack was the best. It had better traction, launched better and had a little better top end. I couldn't notice the extra track as far as handling. I would get that over the standard GT personally. It rode exactly the same as the GT otherwise.

Before purchasing I desired the 136 over the 121 for more hookup and smoothing out the rough stuff. I got exactly what I was looking for, and more.

I boutght the Attak. I wanted the longer track for better hook up. The longer skid also bridges the bumps better. I also like how flat and stable the sled feels at very high speeds.

You'll get used to the long track and then you won't even notice anymore. I converted my 06 RTX over to a 136" and loved it. It really hooked up and rode through the rough stuff with ease. The suspension I am running is a Expert X 136".

I'd say get the longer track. Now that I have totalled my RTX, I am getting a 07 Attak GT. ( I think. ) I am shopping around for sleds but I am only looking at the longer track models.

I bought the Attak GT and rode a quick 40 miles yesterday...long track is great for stability at high speeds and does bridge the bumps...still breaking it in but the power is incredible. My buddy is a die hard poo guy and rode the Attak about 10 miles and stated " I might buy the yamaha and put Polaris stickers on it", no fumes like the old ski doo I had before...I am going to my camp in Tug Hill this weeked to put some real miles on it....but the grin I had last night after getting home lasted until I brushed my teeth to go to bed. The Apex is great but the Attak is the best sled on the trail...My friend has the 06 Ski Doo Renegade 600 SDI, great sled, too far forward for my taste and has been in the shop 4 times since he took delivery in November. I put pilots on mine and no pushing in corners and she just carves around the tight turns with no effort and no sliding. I am so glad I defected from 2 strokes.....but she is heavy. Got her stuck once and took everything for the two of us to get it out.

I picked up a RTX because of the Mono Shock. Heard some complants about rust and bottoming out and because I'm a big guy I went with the more robust RTX. Mono is better in the studder bumps but the CK swallows up the big mogals on the trails on Sunday afternoon. Being a Doo guy made me like the color too. The fox floats are the best front shock I have ridden. I figure Yamaha knows a little about sleds and there has to be a reason they switched there rough trail sled to the CK rear skid. Up here in Manitoba we're blessed with 7000 miles of groomed trail so I felt I didn't need the extra lenght for flotation. And again if your looking for a 150 hp yamaha with out the mono you don't have a lot of choices. Truly go with what turns your fancy as they are all great sleds with the same great motor. I'll never go back to a 2 stroke.

I went with the Apex RTX mainly for the stiffer rear/front suspension.
Can push it very hard in the rough stuff also.

I have a 05 RX-1 with the mono skid and love it. When it came time to add another sled to the stable, Apex was only choice for me.
I rode an Apex GT and it was also killer, but when our trails get tore up, the 121's get a bit rough.
Rode an Attak on some rough trails and it was a huge difference so that is what I got.
Other thing I like about the Attak is the awsome traction it has over the 121's in snow. Ice and real hardpack, not too much difference.
I ride with 2 Apex GT's (and usually some F7's ) and at the end of the day on bumpy trails, they are a bit worn out and ready for the hot tub, I'm still ready to go more miles.
Disadvantage of the Attak is real twisty trails. It wants to push.
We ride stupid hard and the Attak IS slower through the tight stuff than the GT's or my 05 RX-1.
