I have been doing a lot of reading on clutching but can't find what I'm looking for.
My 09 XTX has all stock clutching, with a 1.75" back country track and 20/39 gearing. I am revving out to 9150 +- 20-30 rpm depending on conditions. I want to lower my top rpm by 200 rpm or so to get me back down around 8900-9000 rpm. I do not want to change weights, I would like to do this by changing the primary spring. My question is which spring would I change to?
I have also thought about doing the 14.5mm rollers to lower engagement, and give better mid range pull, would this drop my top rpm? Or would a simple spring change give me what I am looking for?

If you have the b-s-b (35/101) ....the b-p-b (30/96) ....would drop your RPM close to what you are looking for and a lower engagement.
But if your are seeing those rpms on hard pack....it might seem low with a load on the motor in snow.
I would not worry to much about close to 9000 rpm....this motor loves to grunt and as long as you are seeing 8400 to 9000 ....it will be fine.

The thing is I think I am past the power curve. On a long straight away, when I pin it my speed is slow to climb after 120-130 km/h. I know the 1.75 isn't helping me but I think revving past 9100 is hurting me. Low end is great, but mid range isn't there like it used to be, and I would like to have it back. I don't care if it won't break 100 mph but I want to get there like it used to.

Go with the Y-P-Y spring and 14.5mm rollers with stock weights and the Back Country track. B-P-B spring will shift out to slowly. This is a great setup for a stock motor with that track. Engagement should be around 3300rpm and top end with a deep snow load should be around 8500-8600rpm. There is a hugh seat of the pants diff from low through mid band pull. Just keep in mind that you'll lose most of the engine braking with this setup.
