need windsheild help rs vector gt

i bought a tall extra wide windsheild from yamaha - it did not come with instructions - it mounted right on the stock mounting points but it has an extra monut out on the hood - it looks like the hood needs to be drilled for this sheild - has anyone installed this sheild and how did you mount it
