well as soon as i get my attak out of storage im changing out the cr10ek...
i have been running them in my yamaha r6 and my sled and just the other day, only 1 summer on the plugs, the electrode part(the center) fell out and dropped in the cylinder on my r6...messed up the valves and piston...
i probs will never run a NGK plug again..
my motor guy tells me this isnt the first time he as seen this with NGK and said he would never run them plugs in anything he owns...and he owns all yamahas..
just thought i would throw that out there for ya guys...

That is what he said, he is changing them out on his sled. He knows that they are a NGK plug.
I have never heard of this before and with the amount of people running them if it were a concern we would of seen it here before.
what are the best spark plugs to run.

i forgot what he told me to run but i will let ya guys know what i put in..but he told me that they attach the center spark thing in the plug better..
i know its not heard of much at all, but all it took was one for me to change brands...
just thought i would throw it out there and see if anyone else had it happen..hope not for your wallets sake lol

Isnt that electrode the whole length of the plug?Have rolled a sled and broke the ceramic off and could see it.Got me home also.Sure it wasnt a irridium where only tip is platinum or something?
My brother had this happen on a chevy truck with CHAMPION spark plugs.....it sucks

just another reason I'm glad I'm not one of those guys that f with the plugs for no reason. anything off road I have ever owned doesn't get enough use to ever even look at the plugs

Been installing NGK plugs in my Yamaha's for over 25 years now and never had a problem.

NGK's aren't the only plug that this has happened too, do a search on google and you'll see that the plugs you're switching too probably had this problem as well, I wouldn't give up on NGK's just because of this experience

I had it happen on an outboard motor with a Champion plug. No damage 
the chance of it happening again are slim I would think.

I would be more concerned about buying the plugs if they were manufactured at the same time as your bad plug. Most likely there was a QC problem at that time. There should be some type of manufacturing reference.
I have changed 1000 or more plugs in my time,whether its my toyz, trucks,cars,tractors etc or my buddies things and never seen a plug do that.even on a seized-up overheated engine.out of the millions of plugs made,theres going to be a few thousand that will fail at some point i guess??
