talking with my brother today and he had just left the Ramada Inn in Fargo ND. He is a diehard Arctic Cat man but was most impressed with the Nytro, he stated that sitting on it, it had a completely different feel to it than an apex (rightfully so), grabbing hold of the handle bars and standing up he could lean side to side and it would come right off the ground feeling much lighter than lets say my 07 RTX (also easy to believe). All said and done he was very impressed. I live 200 miles away and just cant make it down today (rats).
I think for the next couple of years we will see Yamaha try corner this segment of the market, the big horsepower sleds are nice but to non-affordable for the most part, its all about snowcross nowadays.

I just hope they can work to make them more affordable. I know they are some of the best, but it won't do Yammy any good if no one can afford them!

its not only yammi though, you can buy an apex rtx for $600 cheaper than a mach z.i think the whole industry has to get those prices down to attract new buyers, but then again, were the ones that want lighter and more powerful sleds and we keep buying them, were the main cause for rising prices imonate007 said:I just hope they can work to make them more affordable. The thing that kills the pricing is the lack of resale value.Until we get decent snow levels costs will continue to spiral out of control for the use IMH unless you are a real diehard.

I think we should just work harder or maybe get another job to get more money.

I do know one thing after riding for 36 years(owning arctic cat, polaris, skidoo), it does not matter what you spend on a sled, go buy what you can afford, but for sure yamaha offers the best sled for the buck, when you really sit back and look what you get for your money, the japanese win this one. Unfortanatly we cannot control resale value, this may fall like the previous post states into mother natures hands along with the seasonal aspect. Although staying on the thread topic IMOHO 2008 will be another advancement to a great line of four strokes.

I finally had the opportunity to sit on an FX Nytro at our local sled show. I like the fact that the sitting position is higher, but it is at the expense of a skinny hard seat, more padding is required on this seat I think. Sitting on an XP was way more comfortable and there was a whole lot more leg room than the FX Nytro, which was more like the REVs seating position.

just looking at the pics...to me I think it will be a lot like the first years REV....it sit's high and so do you the rider...sure it's lighter and will be able to pound the big stuff...but she looks a little tippy for tight trails if you ask me...

the funny thing is you couldn't be more wrong. I got a chance to get on one at the Novi Show and I can tell you it's not tippy at all. The reason I tried to get it up on it's side from the saddle was i was told it cornered like a trailing arm SRX or SX. The thing was flat out solid.

cool..guess looks can be deceiving...I do seem to remember reading in one of the rags it steered on the heavy side though...maybe it has a beefy swaybar to keep it planted?

When i was at the ottawa show on sunday i noticed the nytro skies were sitting lower than the apex. After lifting the ski i would say that the keel is a lot shorter , maybe 1/2 ''.This should make it a lot more stable on the trail .
