I to have an 03 with 3000kms you have nothing to fear you have a great sled should be very happy with it ... :yam: :4STroke:

podoll,
i have 4-4stroke sleds and would not buy a 2 stroke again. you will like the rx-1. it does not compare to the new apex but being your first sled you have made a good choice. good luck on the trails.

Welcome to the site and the world of 4-strokes :rocks: :4STroke: :yam:
Fair price especially with the low milage. The 03 can be improved greatly from the knowledgable guys on this site.
First question; Is the sled completely stock?

The sled is stock except for the track, original was replaced with a rip saw.

Where shoud i start with mods? Im certainly on a budget but would love to know my options.

Welcome aboard!

Hey, welcome aboard! I joined on this site about 6-8 weeks ago and these guys have been great. I am already addicted. Glad to have you

You will love this site. I too bought a 03' RX last year with 400 miles and this site will help allot with mods ect. you will want to do with your new sled. (or not do) ..Thease guy's know everything about your sled. If you have a question do a search I found that to be very helpful.. I have done all the work to my sled because of the info found on this site. (Jackshaft bearing up date, clutching, ect. ect.ect)... Enjoy that new sled.. :4STroke: 8) :D

The first thing I would do is get a clutch kit. Yamaha left much on the table in the clutching dept for 03. I suggest getting in touch with either Jeff Simmons (CPR), Matt (the speedshop) or Allen Ulmer (ulmer racing). Any of those guys can hook you up with a kit specifically for your weight, track etc.
Actually, before you spend any money get a hold of Turk on this site. If I remember right he had some tricks that could be done with the stock weights for no money that helped greatly.
