How is it sealed to the shaft? It appears there is a bushing of some sort. Curious as to what type of seal the other side uses. I know water accumulates down there

Looks like a Ron Ward product. Looks cool don’t really understand what it does

I’m pretty sure that’s the inner race of the bearing you see not a bushing.

Yes correct.. look up Prevost performance FB page as Ron Ward answers some questions on this product.

It's an interesting way to deal with the driveshaft issue. It adds a 2nd bearing and re-inforces the tunnel at the same time. Ron's point of view is that the chaincase side bearing has the same slip fit as the brake-side yet never has an issue with spinning because its always in oil. His second bearing is adding more load to the shaft and from what I understand also increases lubrication on the shaft - the new sleds actually have grease on the shaft too.

So instead of locking the bearing to the shaft, adding lube to it, both in and outside.

When these bearings had a grease fitting and greased they lasted a long time on our older sleds.

Looks like a nice product to strengthen the tunnel in that area.
That being said, I don't understand how it keeps the other bearing from spinning on the shaft. I don't believe "lack of lube" is the issue.
The problem isn't that bearing is wearing out, then dragging on the shaft.
I have seen brand new sleds with that bearing skidding on the shaft.
Maybe the new bearing is carrying the bulk of the load? Still, the issue seems to be fitment, not grease.
