The new fords are the same, urea tanks on them to help emissions. The chevv has 160 000 km warranty so cant be that bad!

They are all programmed differently, and the mileage suffers. First thing to do is buy a aftermarket programmer and exhaust.

I have an 08 ford with the 6.4 and i was lucky to get 9 mpg after exhaust, tuner, and intake and now i'm getting 24 to 27 on the highway.

So what did you do differently to go from 9mpg to 24- 27mpg?

i'me guessing dpf delete, egr delete among other epa friendly devices.

i worked for years on heavy on and off road engines its unbelievable that an eng 10-25% harder on fuel is better for the environment

My cousin has a Chevrolet Dealership and he said the mileage and performance is better on the 2011 than my 2005

Just picked up my 2011 duramax 2500 last month. I was also concerned about the def fluid but I can tell you that it's not anything to worry about. This truck is UNREAL! Pulls like a freight train. Runs smooth as silk and the engine brake works so well it feels like the brakes will last forever. I am getting 14 mpg and running it hard. I was told that if I put a chip in the truck, it would not void the warrantee. . . As long as I put it back to stock befor any warrantee work would be done. I am very, very happy with this truck. I'm not brand loyal to any truck. I looked at ford and dodge too. The chevy was much better, IMHO.

:die

buddy of mine has 2011 f350. gets almost 18 highway i believe with no mods.

hey flyby, what programmer you have? i have an 08 with the stuff in my sig and am not getting that mileage.

That voids the warranty though.
you just have to put it back to the stock strategy before service - i've actually read the mfg dont mind the programmers, as it does things for longevity thru programming that they cant do legally.
