New Grizz for 09

Have you guys checked out the machines for 09 yet? On the Canadian site, the 660 is gone, the 400 is gone, and they have a new 550 Grizz that is identical to the 700 except the piston is 10mm smaller in diameter and the throttle body is 40mm instead of 44mm. The ignition system might be a bit different too. Other than that, I can't see any differences between the 550 and the 700 except price. $1,100.00 cheaper than the 700 in Canada. This should be a sweet machine.

I was able to test ride the 550 before it was released, and I have to say it's a great quad!! The EPS spoiled me, though - I'd def have to get the electric steering option!! Handles awesome - power is very good and very manageable, and it's in the 700 chassis so it comes with all of the great features of the 700! Everyone that rode them on the same day I did had only good things to say about it......

Is it torque enough to lift the front wheels?

I'm only guessing here but the stroke is the same as the 700. I would imagine they geared it to be as torquy and just maybe be a bit slower on the top end. All the specs are the same as the 700, including the weight.

I didn't try to wheelie it....but the last post sounds pretty close to the mark! The 550 has plenty of low end, it's just not as fast as the 700's on the top end.....it's a more tame feel than the 700. But still very capable, if that makes sense.
