I'm posting this product here in the Winder section because a few have had brake fade issues.
Also, it's not really new, but i just found out about it..............so it's new!
It's called REACT SRF Racing by Castrol

Boiling temp: --- wet ---- dry

REACT ------- 518 ---- 590
DOT 5.1 ------ 374 ---- 518
DOT 4 -------- 311----- 446

It's considered a DOT 4, but the temps are off the chain. (or significantly higher for you old bastards)
Anybody heard anything about this stuff?

P.S1: My bud had to put this in his $18,000 Ducati Multistrada because the rear oil reservoir gets hot near the exhaust causing extreme brake fade

P.S2: My 9,000 Yamaha FJ-09 has never had one problem

Steve you never use your brakes LOL. Matter of fact you ought to remove your pads, caliper and rotor to lighten up your sled

Well it looks like the kids woke up!
Welcome home boys. It's time to put the bikinis away & get down to business.
I've NEVER had brake fade in my life, but since i'll be completely redoing the whole drivetrain, i figure i'll change the brake fluid.
I was going to use 5.1, but i need to research this product a bit.
Might not be enough guys out of "summer hibernation" yet to get any feedback though.

Don’t jump gun yet Steve, it’s bow season!

Bow already started for me.
It's bow, Blackfish & working on sled season for me.
I actually ordered my parts while in tree stand. Now that's dedication..................or OCD

We still have 2 weeks to go before bow season starts here. You guys are lucky!

Crop Damage permits.
The owner doesn't know i eat more of his Blueberries then the deer.
He says "they keep eating my Blueberries". I tell him "well i need to shoot more deer so get me more permits"

The monsters are in Ohio anyways.

Did you guys get me off topic again?

Is there any racers out there with some knowledge of this new fangled brake oil?

One thing you should consider OCD is not only boiling points but the fact that non silicon brake fluid (dot3 & 4) draws water too itself, which can cause the aluminum and steel in the system to corrode.

Also dot5 silicon brake fluid keeps you seals like new, protecting the rubber in the system.

If your not experiencing boiling you might not need the extra temperature protection but it’s nice to have the corrosive resistance of the dot5.

Not sure if this stuff you listed is hydroscopic or not?

:dunno:

I had issues last season with loosing brakes when riding hard on trails. I put dot 5 in this summer I know will if there is a improvement this season

overkill,you dont need it

I personally don't need this stuff, but some that had problems should look into it.
I was just going to use 5.1 for the best peace of mind without having to completely clean out the system like the DOT 5 needs
