Don't know about a dealer but can get them through slidkicks.com. Just got mine in the mail and wow, I did not realise the size of these things. I definatly don't see anything wearing out on these. Plus they have replaceable tips if you need to.

I have seen a write up on these in a forum and they broke after the first ride one stud missing and the holder mangled and all the plastic coating broken and cracked , i have not tried them but i would wait to see what others think.

You may be refering to 'Yellowknife' who had little good to say about the first generation sidekicks. He has second generation ones now that appear to be holding up much better if I remember correctly.

Yep, the first generation failed...the second generation passed last spring, but may have some durability issues over the longer term. I'm still testing, but one of them has a cracked casing, but it still appears to be doing its job. FYI I got both sets free of charge from my dealer (Force One) to test for them (not for Slide Kicks) but the bar style is far more durable, just don't back up! Easier said than done, trust me on that.

There was a company that made a reversing bar style scratcher, but I never found out who it was because I haven't seen them in a few years.

I had pickup a pair for the rails but I mount them on the ski and I love how they work. But doing donuts with them down is not the smart thing to do.

Thats the kind I bought for my Apex Mountain.

The only problem is, they dont seem to have caught on here in the States yet...I looked all over at different vendors here in the U.S. and no one carries them.

I had to purchase them from Royal Distributing. Nice folks to deal with, but shipping was expensive and no doubt took longer due to customs.

I sure think it was worth the trouble though because you get a full snow spray pattern from the scratchers being at the front of the rails rather than halfway down them like most rail mounted ones.

I was really hell bent on making scratchers spray snow in front of the track into the track windows until I realised that what's required is a general snow spray to be kicked up in the general area of the track, and its really the velocity of the spinning track that does all the work, sucking in the snow spray from any location around the track, cycling it through the suspension components, onto the track glides and windows and then lubricating the sliders, all in one step, its like a blizzard going on in the tunnel don't forget, so any kind of snow spray close by to the wind velocity in the tunnel will get the job done really well.

Put a set on my machine last year... then took them off and tossed in garbage. The amount of vibration thru the running boards was almost unbearable.

As for the Yamaha scratchers which mount on the linkage... local dealer had a few sets come in and sold. Shortly after had everyone of them returned due to breaking off. The carbide crimp is stainless where as the mount crimp is copper and bend/break-off easily. Good idea if both crimps were stainless as they worked well when on.

Wow...I'm impressed. How the hell did you find them in the U.S.?

I searched and searched...lol.

As for the vibration through the floorboards?? Not sure yet, I have heard they do buzz a little, reminding you they are down before backing or loading on your trailer.

I have to give em a try...I paid twice as much as that U.S. website by ordering them through Canada...oh well, live and learn.

I'll post feedback when we get some decent snow to ride in here in the Northwest!
