I just regestered but have been reading this since i bought my rx1 last year. I would like to know what i can do to improve the steering so that it does not pull from side to side in hard snow and ice covered snow.

:Rockon: Hey welcome newbie, & I see your from somewhere around here. ;)! Is your Rx1 new or used? If it's used have someone look at the front end, bushings, steering links, they might need attention. If you still have the stock ski's on change them, why not try a set of Simmons ski's, they made a big difference on my 03. (and i just happen to have an extra set)

thanks for the replies I will try the shimming and if that does not help will look into some new skis. Were is the cheapest place in canada to get the simmons skis?

I agree with big_ry_ry. I would try a simple solution like following Scott Bergstrom's recommendations on his site. Start here ( http://www.bergstromskegs.com/oui/darting_solutions.htm )and then go to the site map and read!!!!! If you have questions, give him a call. He is very helpful and eager to answer questions.

I'll be using 8" triple points, shims, and ski savers on the stock skis.

If that doesn't work, Scott will probably refund your money and you can buy new skis.

;)! I'm a new guy here too I have been a sled rider since 1967 . I have never owned a yamaha but being a mechanic etc. for 24 years on sleds bikes cars and big trucks . My next sled will be a Yammy I have ridden them and even raced a 1977 SRX 440 for a friend at one point LOL!!!

I do not have a modern sled so to speak at this time , but I still have a 1981 arctic cat el'tigre 6000 hat my father bought new in 81 {it has just a few mods LOL!!}
