definately upgrade the sway bar- I forgot to mention that. Also watch the air pressure in the foxes. I went with bergstroms on slydog skis

I've had the float guards on since day-one. I got them from the suggestion of my dealer. The intention of them is to prevent sand, rocks, or other sharp debris from damaging the shock body. Since the air chamber relies on a good seal, if the shock body gets a deep scratch or dent in it, the air could leak.
My shock bodies still look like brand new .... and the roost guards have never come off. They've just become one of those things I never think about any more.

Congrats on the new iron. You'll love it.
I haven't tried the sway bar swap but for flat cornering I found dropping the floats pressure to 55 psi got the front down enough to get the a-arms parallel to the ground and the inside ski lift disappeared. Then for your ditch riding just pump the pressure back up to lift the front.
As for runners I had deuce bars for two years. They eliminated darting but I found that they pushed in the corners. This year I'm trying the snow trackers. They are pricey but hear a lot of good feedback on them.
I also added two sets of wheels to reduce slider wear.

I have the slydogs with Bergstrom triple points and shimmed the front end. The thing sticks like glue. Best investment. The skis in combo with the 13mm sway bar , it was like a completely different sled.
