New snowmobiler here..looking for some input

I think the price is a little high, but you are buying from a dealer so they always charge more than a private sale. Be sure to find out why the body panels don't match the year. That to me is a dead give away the sled had been wrecked. If it has been wrecked than the price needs to come down a bunch or walk away from it.

sounds a bit high of a price...I bought mine (2009 RTX SE) new in a box in 2010 for $8700 from a dealer here in WI... I can tell you I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree the graphics are different on that sled from my SE. The graphics in 09 had a solid white sticker on each side of the sidepanels....might have bought newer graphics because of a wreck?

Yeah it has a taller riser on it, and also those are not the stock handgrips either, look like RSI grips, or the "updated" yamaha kit they were selling.

Price is a little high, but if it had extended warranty then its a little better.

It already has the reinforcement bracket on the tunnel, so thats good.

FIRST thing if you buy it, get some guards on those Fox Float shocks. Don't want to damage those shafts.

Then revalve the rear shocks. Makes a HUGE difference.

which guards do you recommend farmer?...looking to get some...

The oil tank is a pretty good giveaway if it's been on it's side hard. They don't tank much to dent or bend the tabs. Also unless the lower panels have been replaced as well the clutch side will show ware from being pushed into the spinning clutch. I'd say the price is high as well. It's a 3 year old sled, but with a Yamaha you don't really get anything by buying newer :o|

Just the regular guards are fine. Anything to keep the rocks from chipping/damaging your shock shafts.

You can get them in colors, but I doubt they will match perfectly, so I recommend just black

new snowmobiler

If you are not sure take someone with you that knows what to look for. Two sets of eyes are better than one. I know from experience it is not hard to get burnt. When I got into snowmobiling years back I got burnt because I did not know what I was looking for. Before you know it you will be experienced at riding and working on them. good luck

buy it it's a yamaha!!!!they dont die easy!!!!!!!!!!ask for a warranty!!!!!!!!!!

I would forsure look at what the other guys are saying. Subframe, side pannels etc. Price is a little high for that sled. The one in my signature was under that with the mods, extended warranty and 1500 miles mint! Keep looking if you don't mind driving, otherwise you'll love the sled. Theres always deals to be found
