Looking for some input HYGEAR Sport package

Decided today to remove my shocks (all 4) and send to hygear for a complete revalve and triple rated twisted springs(Sport package) It's going be close to the $1000 mark by the time i get them back. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with them installed in a XTX. I am alittle over the 200lbs mark and ocassionaly carry a passenger, i find that these sled are terrible over the stutter bumps in stock form and bottom while carrying extra weight. Just wondering if this big investment is gonna be worth it. Thanks for any input.
 
I don't have any experience with them, but have been drooling over the revalve and spring package for my XTX as well. I'm about the same weight too so I'll be very interested to hear how you like the new set-up!

I had the Trail Pro, it was as good as it gets for the stock shocks. The front shocks were excellent, no complaints what so ever. Now the rear is a different story, the center shock on the XTX is terrible, even after the add-on rezi and dual-rate spring it was not up to my standards, so in other words there is only so much that can be done with that shock, if I had to do it all over again I would have bought the custom Axis shock from them instead. Now I may be a little more picky about it then the average. Overall it really was a great setup and completely eliminated the trail chatter and was not to bad on the big stuff either.
 
I have the trail package and must say it was a great improvement. Never had any issues with front shock. I also installed Hygear's torsion spring spacers. Which I think will help with the two-up riding.
 
I have the sport x package. To repeat what is said abovethe fronts are amazing, but the center shock was still the weak link. Still way better than stock though
 
I did the Sport X package and there was a significant improvement in the quality of the ride. It's alot of $ but you are getting the best ride you can possibly get out of the Nytro!
 
sounds great and just what i need. would the front gytr ski shocks be better revalved with triple rate springs or just switch them out with fox float or floats 2's ? i can get floats for a fairy good rice at a couple places.was thinking about the floats then just revalved the two skid shocks.

In no way are the floats as good of a all around shock as the GYTR is, they take big bumps a little better but thats it.
 
Stay away from the floats and stick with the GYTR's unless you're racing snowcross!
 
I would spend the money on replacing the rear shocks if I were to do it again. The stockers after Hygear'd were nice but didn't survive, parts are extemely expensive as you can't order them individually, also not every shop can even get the parts/seals. I would go Axis, or Fox, you can start relatively inexpensive and build on them each year if needed. The stockers, your going to end up with a pile. Sell the stocks and put that towards new "real" shocks.
 
Fox zero pros

Found a couple places that sell fox zero pros. Can get the two rear shocks for my XTX for around $700. Anyone have experience with these compared to the hygear revalved stockers ? I don't want to revalve my center rear shock if it's just going to burst lol. but then again i can get all 4 of my stocker shocks revalved and twisted springs with torsion spacers for $1000. Will it hurt to mix the rear shocks such as, one hygear revalve and a fox zero pro center shock ?
 
It won't hurt at all. If you could only replace one shock in the rear I would pick the center. You could reuse the clicker one the new one. The rear shock isn't all bad other then the internals are steel and cheap. Hygear can fix that for you. The center, I think is just not built strong enough to deal with the sled. Carver has some nice deals on Fox, and can valve it so that you wouldn't need a rebound adjustment. What I mean by that is, you will pretty much find a rebound and leave it, so why not just valve the shock and be done with it. Sure it may take one or two tries to get it just right, but the stock with adjustment wouldn't be any different.

Below is a pic of my center. Notice the fact that it resembles a banana! It, had lots of $$$ put in to it less than 1,800 miles before this pic. I wish I knew then what I know now. My opinion.

I ended up upgrading to Penske Custom Axis in rear skid on my XTX set up by Hygear. These shocks are the real deal if you are willing to spend $1,200.. By far a significant ride improvement with infinant adjustments if you choose to do HI/LO compression and rebound.
 
I have four Ohlins shocks that I took off my '09 XTX that I need to sell. Fabulous shocks but I sold the sled. They have about 400 miles total. In the boxes, look brand new. PM me if you're thinking of a shock upgrade.
