Need help: Anybody know why my RX1 Supercharger would be cutting out during nose up conditions like climbing or jumping. Motor just shuts off then acts like its flooded. You have to let it set for a minute and then start it like its flooded, full throttle while cranking and eventually it will start. This was my first trip out with supercharger, happened twice. Once while climbing steep hill and the other was while I was in a jump. Pls let me know if anyone else had this issue and how you fixed it. Thank you

add a bov and lower float level see throttle chop posts on turbo and it will help. seems the SC have the same problem the turbos had with throttle chop the float bowls remain charged and flood the engine. If it is an RX-1 tie all four carbs to the bov also check your fuel presure.

What he said. Especially the float levels.

You don't need a BOV. Your carbs are leaking most likely and check or ask where your floats were adjusted to. I just fixed mine in the last 3 weeks of testing every weekend, and now I can't get it to flood, lose power, anything. No BOV, just simple sealing/tuning of the carbs. I can stand it up, jump and pull very long climbs above 12k feet and Wa'la - no problems. PM me if you need more info. Derek

DO NOT ADD A BOV.
Your floats have to be set.
Mine did this too.
Listen to Bad Yukon, he is right on the money.

Bad Yukon and Kbxsrx What float level and Piolet fuel screw and main jet settings do you have. Did you at least tie all carbs together to fuel regulator?

03 RX-1 Mtn, S/C Stage 1 installed by MPI in 2-05, 162 2.25" track. Anywhere I unload here in CO, it's 9900 - 10k feet, so we ride from there up to 12.5k.

Floats were checked by TJ's in mid December, to be set at 14~14.5mm. I watched but I'm not sure of the exact setting. 1 of the 4 was off. I also had 3 of 4 carb caps leaking, and also did the T's.

Did you at least tie all carbs together to fuel regulator? Unknown - MPI did the install. ?

Currently I have 17.5 pilots (too lean, 20's coming), 127.5 mains, I can't remember the clip or fuel screw, but when I tear it down I will write everything down, and once the AFR goes in, I will post what I have.

Here's my setup for running high boost at 6500-10,000+ elevations. I'm running 50/50 VP 110 race fuel and 91 pump for fuel. My carbs are seat as follows. 127.5 mains needle in the middle. I have 25 pilots at 2 1/4 turns out on the screws. Floats set are set at 14 mm. My sled will make a long pull no problems jumps are no problem either.

I am also looking into a check valve for the float bowl vent line to keep the CAC tube from being filled with fuel when getting the sled unstuck. I had to tip my sled on it's side and the sled dumped about 1 qt of fuel into the CAC tube. I had to pull the intercooler to soak the fuel out and, after that the sled blew the intercooler off the carbs 3 times. It sucks not having the shop tools to re-instal the intercooler :o| .

SRS;
Do you have the new float bowls? This was all dicussed yesterday on another thread. With the new float bowls, adjust your float hieght to 17mm. No more problems. The throttle chop issue, on mine, had to do with the location of the pulse lines to the fuel regulator. A few of us have moved it to the four throats of the carbs. No more dying.
