I will be joining the 4 stroke riders as I gave up my 2 stroke Viper ER for a leftover 07 Apex GT. Its a funny story. My brother moved back home to Ma from Ariz and wanted me to pick him up a sled like my Viper so I did. He rode that for 100 miles and went to the yam dealer next day and bought the leftover 07 and then rode that 2 times and back to the dealer for a 09 Apex LTX. Told me I could buy the 07 off him and pay him back when ever, I couldn't pass up on the deal. After riding the Apex it is hard for me to get back on my sons Viper and ride that. No going back now.

Like NIGHT & DAY... Congrats on your brother helping you onto a 4-stroke! If he decides to trade up again I'll take the same deal on his 09!

Hey I see you're from Boylston, do you deal with Culleys? I'm right up the road in Westminster. Shoot me a pm, always in search of fellow Yami riders. We do alot of day trips from Fitzwilliam and Keene. Join us.pup55 said:I will be joining the 4 stroke riders as I gave up my 2 stroke Viper ER for a leftover 07 Apex GT. Its a funny story. The only people who criticize 4-stroke Yammis are those who have never riden one!

You got that right. I liked my 2 stroke but once I rode that 4 stroke boy what a difference.

Same here -- I was a stallwart 2 stroke guy -- at first disappointed at yamaha for selling us out, my thinking then was to just save money..... Well, whatever Yamaha's motivation (I'm just not sure they switched to 4 strokes on puropose...), they have advanced the sport dramatically and forged ahead now making machines that are far, far better than the older machines. Once I drove one for the day, I was hooked and I just could not fully go back.
BTW -- I still have my old 03 Mnt Viper --- anyone interested????

Your right -- that takes a time or two of being thrown forward to get used to. But the consistent midrange powerband on the Apex is just thrilling to drive!
