My buddy owns a yamaha dealership. I have been riding his demos for 3 or 4 years now whenever I go with him. I have a ski doo rev myself, but for advertising purposes, I always ride a yamaha when I go with him. I'm not much into buying brand new sleds due to $$$ or I would have had a yamaha by now. I 've wanted an Apex since they first came out, and love them every time I'm on them. They have finally come down in price enough for me, and my buddy is getting an 06 ER on trade, and will sell it to me for cost. I've only ever ridden new ones so I don' t really know alot about the problems they have (every sled has it's problems) What are things to be concerned about? I already know the handwarmers sucked before the update, and the wheels are crap. Is there anything else that's obvious?

Your buddy should be able to answer your question, but I'd add exhaust gaskets to your list.

The handle bars suck AFTER the update too..
Use 06' handle bars with the UPdated 07 wiring harness.. then you get HOT hands..
Other than that, these sleds are almost bullet proof..
Get rid of all the stock OEM bogie wheels and get good aftermarket wheels from yamaha that have changable bearings..
