Hey guys, just picked up (yesterday) a 2018 LTX-LE 50th etc etc w/6500 kms. I'm coming from Vipers, and apex etc.

Got it on the lake today, about 10-12" of powder. When I got on some previous tracks, it pulled super hard and fast (as I'm sure they all do). Just got back from a short rip again now on the lake (~10 kms), taking it easy with the odd 3/4 throttle pull. This time the temp gauge was going a little wonky, all over the place. Was mostly staying around 80c , but then started going into limp mode and gauge super quickly spiked to 102, then 105 then 120 (for a few seconds), and then came back down as I moved a little quicker and settled back around the 80c mark until I came back to shore. What could cause this?

Apparently these are the specs:
290 flash (no way to confirm at this point, but sled pulls good)
stock air intake
appears to be stock map sensor?
Turbosmart BOV
Edit - has a new take off SRX track 1" lug with new studs down the center.
no ice scratchers (yet - still determining if I need)
clutching who knows?

I did notice about 1/3 of the front of the intercooler area had snow build up from the lake. Could this be the simple (duh) cause of the temps going wonky?

Sounds like air traped in the system, get the nose of the sled up with a floor jack or hoist and remove the plug on aluminun upper resorvior above turbo and fill with antifreeze.

Exactly what i was just thinking 30 min ago. I did notice today, when stone cold, the coolant level was at the cold line. Then after a good pull on the lake, pulled the panel and it was still sitting at the cold level mark on the reservoir...does that line up to needing to burp/bleed the coolant?

Hey guys, got it all sorted now! Good to go ,temps staying in the 75c-77c range. thanks to the posts from previous guys and kinger for his youtube vid. One thing I did differently to drastically speed up the bleeding process was to fill the neck full, burp it from the coolant hose which runs at the side of the block between the primary and secondary. I could get my finger in there to "push push push" with the rad cap off, let it suck it all in, then refill - did that a bunch of times with a semi-cool engine (~65c), then fired it up and took out the 14mm bleeder by the turbo, and it started pissing cooling steadily. Shut it down, then topped it up a bit more, a few more squeezed and good to go. PHEW! Thanks all.
